Times have changed. Human rights can no longer be restricted to food, water & shelter. Internet is our air. We know what the people in Egypt & outside felt when their internet was shut down. How is one supposed to stop the connectivity among people & nations in this new era of globalized society?
internet is a whole world with in it....if a person wants to stand today in this world he/she can never without internet access...i fully agree to Mr David.
we cant imagine a day without internet..its because its serving us, a section of society, the most...and we are paying for it...but by fundamental right we mean to consider each n every citizen...90% of those who cant pay for it presently wont even find ne use of it even if they do get the facility free of cost..dats y i said...eventually it would become a fundamental need indeed...
In as much as modern and competent education remains a fundamental right, internet access should automatically be a fundamental right. The emphasis of the modern day society is education for all. And whenever education fails nations have failed.
There is no development, there is no civilisation, and there is no globalization without modern education, and there is no modern education without constant access to the internet. The internet is the foundation of modern education.
